Experience on RDBMS(MySQL preferred ), some exposure to database design
Clear concepts of technologies used and OOPs
Familiarity with Linux environment
Understands design concepts like MVC and other design patterns
Experience with PHP based MVC framework like yii, cakephp, zend, codeigniter
